In the 24 hours of the May 4th BIG Day of Giving we raised $13,665! With 101 donors generously giving on this one day event, we are incredibly humbled by the outpouring of gifts.
The Elk Grove Food Bank Services began the day with a barbecue to celebrate. EGFBS Operations Manager Ken Franklin grilled up delicious veggies and sausages for donors, volunteers and neighbors. Several EGFBS Board members were helping fill provision boxes and sorting food in the warehouse. This festive atmosphere was to promote the region wide nonprofit community Day of Giving that raised nearly $7.2 million with 599 participating nonprofits. It shows how the entire Sacramento region and Elk Grove community truly has an extraordinary giving spirit to help those in need right here at home.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and know that your support is vital to our mission “to provide essential resources to overcome the many faces of hunger and human need.” We are grateful for your partnership in helping individuals in need to access food and services in an atmosphere of dignity, respect and serving of hope.
