Hunger and food insecurity can strike anyone at any time. The Elk Grove Food Bank provides emergency food to residents of the Elk Grove community in their time of need.
We receive our food primarily through:
- “Food for Families”, funded by Raley’s/Bel-Air grocery stores.
- Food Link, a nonprofit organization that distributes food to food banks/closets throughout Northern California.
- “Kids Can” food drive, which takes place in the fall, sponsored by Channel 3 (KCRA.)
- The Elk Grove, Laguna, and Wilton Postal Carriers’ food drive, held every May.
- Other major food drives sponsored by local merchants, businesses, churches, service groups and neighborhoods.
- Most importantly, personal donations.
