How Do I Apply?

Provide proof of residency - must provide SMUD or PG&E bill, current within 3 months. Residents of the following zip codes are eligible to collect emergency food from the EGFBS Food Closet:

  • 95757 (Laguna)
  • 95758 (Laguna)
  • 95828 (Florin)
  • 95829 (North of Calvine)
  • 95683 (Sloughhouse-Rancho Murieta)
  • 95693 ( Wilton)
  • 95759 (Post office boxes in Elk Grove)
  • The homeless

No one is ever denied food. If a person from a zip code not listed above uses the Elk Grove Food Closet, they are given food, directions and the phone number to the food closet or food bank that services their zip code.

To receive food, you must bring a SMUD or PG&E bill, current to within three months, to show proof of residency. You must also provide a current drivers license, passport or government ID card for each person over the age of 18 living in the home. For persons under the age of 18, current student photo ID, birth certificate, medical insurance card, or government ID card. Social Security cards are not accepted.

Food is distributed once each month to eligible families and homeless individuals.
