URGENT NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19!
The Elk Grove Food Bank remains open to serve clients during this extremely difficult time of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are experiencing increases in clients visiting the Food Bank to receive services. At the same time, we have lost many of our senior volunteers who commit their time to us daily. As such, we have an urgent need to fill volunteer slots to best serve our local community. The Elk Grove Food Bank has been designated an essential service, and our employees and volunteers have authorization to conduct the essential business that we are tasked to provide. We do ask that each volunteer and staff member stay home if they display any signs of illness, or come in contact with anyone who is ill.
Volunteer duties include, but are not limited to: sorting food, client check in, sorting clothes & distributing clothes. Hours for volunteering are: Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM – noon.
For more information on volunteering, please call (916) 685-8453 or email our Volunteer Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The work of Elk Grove Food Bank Services would not be complete without the contributions of its nearly 400 volunteers who work side-by-side with employees everyday to create a positive environment for clients. Every client is treated with Dignity, Respect and a Serving of Hope! Whether you’re a student, a full or part-time worker, or retired, there are many ways that you can assist the Elk Grove Food Bank Services …and your community.
